MotorolaOne of the best-known picture postcards, and also one of the most controversial, is the famous tower card showing the Panopticon prison.
The composition was designed by Charles Hughes and was first published by Paul Paget in 1897.
Hughes later went on to design the famous Trafalgar Square clock and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Today the picture postcard has gone out of print, but the amazing prison tower, now a Grade II listed building, is still in use.india

Massive floods in Assam left at least 11 people dead on Tuesday and forced thousands of people to flee their homes.
Assam, which has been in the grip of floods for the past two weeks, received 1.4 times its average rainfall in June, authorities said.
"The death toll in Assam in June is 11," tweeted state disaster management directorate (DMD) directorate secretary M K Kumarmanglam.
The floods affected 18,000 people in at least 16 of the state's 33 districts, bringing them on roads, railway tracks and in boats, officials said.
Rescue and relief operations were underway, they said.
"District officials are in touch with the State Disaster Management Authority and National Disaster Management Authority," said minister of state for home, government of Assam, Ranjit Dutta.
"The state has decided to provide food, food items and medicine to those affected by floods in the flood-hit areas," he said.
Rescue efforts continued Tuesday with four helicopters and five boats helping stranded people, including those displaced by landslides and those who had been marooned at places across the flood-affected districts.
A fleet of boats from the army and navy rushed hundreds of people stranded at vulnerable spots and helpline numbers were also being circulated for the safety of the people.
Police said a boy drowned while attempting to cross a river while three people were killed when a vehicle they were travelling in fell into a river.
In Lower Assam, three were killed in Hailakandi district and one each in Kamrup, Chir be359ba680
